The Observational Cosmology and Extragalactic Astrophysics group at the Institute of Space Sciences in Barcelona (ICE-CSIC) seeks to appoint one Postdoctoral fellow for a 3-year position. The group is currently composed of 5 senior members (E. Gaztanaga, F. Castander, M. Crocce, P. Fosalba and Lluìs Galbany), 6 postdocs, 8 students and 3 engineers and covers a broad range of aspects in Cosmology and the study of Large-scale Structure (theory, simulations, data analysis).
The candidate is expected to get involved in the scientific preparation and data exploitation of some of the forefront galaxy surveys in which the group is involved: the ESA Euclid mission (www.euclid-ec.org), the Dark Energy Survey (DES, www.darkenergysurvey.org), The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI, www.desi.lbl.gov) and the Rubin Observatory (www.lsst.org). Therefore expertise in real or simulated data analysis of cosmological surveys will be particularly valued.
The eligible candidate will also have the possibility to develop independent research on different aspects of observational cosmology (galaxy clustering, weak lensing, cross-correlations, theory modeling of large-scale structure, likelihood analysis) and/or large cosmological simulations (e.g. see the MICE project, maia.ice.cat/mice),
The appointment is for 2 years, with a 1 year extension subject to performance.
The starting date is flexible, can be as soon as early 2023 but no later than september 2023.
