Researcher: climatic drivers of climate change (R1 – R2)

The Earth Sciences Department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-ES) led by Prof Francisco Doblas-Reyes develops air quality and climate models and performs research in environmental services to address some of the requirements formulated by stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

The Department is looking for a researcher to contribute to a broad European climate risk assessment. The work is related to the identification and analysis of the latest sources of climatic drivers of risks of European interests. The primary duties involve the desk analysis of past, observed and future climatic drivers (such as floods, droughts, heat waves, etc. including both concurrent and compound events) in view of climate change.

The work, which will underpin climate policy actions, implies translating scientific output in peer-reviewed publications and science-for-policy reports into a synthesis. The results will integrate both climate and socioeconomic drivers behind the main risks. The task will be performed in close collaboration with other members of the Department.
